Vocational guidance

The following abstract is taken from the introductory paragraph of the thesis."The problem of the unemployed and unemployable is one of the greatest before our nation. Why are so many out of work? Students of the problem tell us that manufacturers are everywhere needing men but that they are not available among the unemployed. They want men of ability – men skilled in their work. They want efficient business managers and mechanics; but they claim these must be imported even though thousands of our own citizens are out of work. This brings us to the question, why are not more of our men and women ready for the kind of work offered?"
