Description
University Center Director Gene Haffner and Dean of Students Jerry Tanner inside Club Bentley, an eatery, bar, and entertainment spot that opened in February of 1990 and was located on the lower level of the University Center. When it first opened it was decorated in an old-English style, but in the fall of 1990 it was changed to an old-campus style and decorated with historic photographs of campus. The name "Club Bentley" came from from Bentley Bear, one of the former names of the UNC mascot. During renovations to the University Center in 1997, Club Bentley was removed and the space converted to a student computer commons.
