Description
The ultimate aim of this study is to prepare an algebra test to be used in the high school section of the Entrance and Classification Examination for Teachers Colleges. Some other tests for both the elementary and the high school sections have already been prepared by students working for the Master of Arts degrees. Dr. J. D. Heilman, Personnel Director, and Dr. F. L. Whitney, Director of Educational Research, have been the advisers for the previous studies. It was their plan that the test should have a two-fold purpose: that of classifying college students according to their ability, and that of guiding them into their major field of interest for study and student teaching.
