Artist statement: It is a big influence for our life because of Coronavirus, but many people may do not exactly know what it is. As an artist, I have been focusing on combining art and biology to provide people with a new perspective and thinking. Based on this social topic, I did some researches and observed the characteristics of the Coronavirus. Using 3D modeling to show the appearance of the virus. My final model was not only based on scientific research, but also incorporated my own thinking. For example, Coronavirus is spreading very fast in the world, I wondered what makes it different with other viruses. Then I found "flagella" in their surface, I can make them different by design the flagella. My work was sketched by hand. Then I used Rhino, which is a software for 3D work, created and rendered. I also recorded a video showing the appearance of my model. Hope people get more understanding of the Coronavirus after seeing this model.
