Description
A typewritten letter to Lieutenant Lewis Robbins, U.S.N.R. from James A. Michener. In the letter Michener tells Robbins that he has heard he has been given a difficult, but interesting job disposing of surplus navy property. Michener asks if it is possible to obtain a standard Remington or Royal elite type typewriter. He mentions that he cannot use a pica type machine, that it must be elite type. Michener then outlines his possible qualifications for obtaining the machine. Michener states that he is a lieutenant commander in the Naval Reserves, he badly needs the machine for his business and he can pay cash. Michener mentions he would also like to meet with Robbins to hear his thoughts regarding George School and Swarthmore College.
